This lecture aims in describing some properties of the wave propagation phenomena and in providing a background to understand some recent methods of numerical simulation.

  1. Study of some physical and mathematical properties for the wave propagation phenomena

  2. Introduction and implementation of a discontinuous Galerkin method.

  3. Application to the inverse problem: determination of the physical property of a propagation media.
