This course aims at training oral and written translation as well as documentation experts able to be competitive on the labor market.

Savoir-faire et compétences

These translation, terminology, and documentation experts can translate specialized texts from French to English (as well as Spanish and German) and the other way round.
They master computer assisted translation and are trained in terminology and documentation.

As top professionals, they can translate specialized content related to health, law and science (for instance). In order to do so, they are able to carry out linguistic investigations involving a trilingual lexicon so as to improve the quality and accuracy of their translations while contributing to the evolution of terminology.

Our graduates can:

  • Carry out a detailed analysis of a complex document so as to highlight its meaning, understand the allusions and connotations, and to highlight its relation to other historical or contemporary documents.
  • Find the information needed for their investigations by using any available resources (print and digital) and evaluate its reliability.
  • Cross-examine various sets of data in order to summarize them into a coherent whole.
  • Translate from the studied languages to French (and vice versa) while taking into account the usual language rules as well as the characteristic of the text.
  • Draw up reports aimed at assessing precisely the advance of scientific and technical research; gather a bibliography showing the progress made in the concerned field.
  • Write trilingual terminological lexicons so as to provide up-to-date and high standard knowledge.
  • Translate different kinds of documents from specialized fields in order to meet the needs of international private/public companies/bodies.
  • Perform simultaneous or consecutive interpretation towards their native language.
  • Use Computer Assisted Translation softwares.
  • Manage documentation according to library norms.
  • Make use of documentary databases.
  • Set up a documentary monitoring.
