Enrollment Fees
The total cost of studies includes a student and campus life contribution (CVEC) and registration fees (tuition).
People returning to education after a break of two or more years (formation continue) are exempt from the CVEC
There are several different cases:
Tuition includes student and campus life contribution (CVEC) and registration fees.
National registration fees (subject to modification of the ministerial order of April 19, 2019 on tuition fees):
- € 178 for a year in an undergraduate degree program (licence, BUT);
- € 255 for a year in a master's degree program;
- € 630 for a year in an engineering program at a Ministry-approved institution;
- € 398 for a year of doctoral studies.
*Are eligible for initial training status (formation initiale): applicants who have never interrupted their studies since high school or who can prove that they were enrolled in initial training the two years prior to enrollment at the UPPA (unless their situation, training or funding gives them the status of "continuing education trainee" / formation continue).
In the framework of an apprenticeship contract
The cost of studies is covered by the employer with whom the apprenticeship contract is signed
Apprentices are exempt from tuition fees.
They are still required to pay the student and campus life contribution (CVEC).In the framework of a professionalization contract
The cost of studies is paid by the employer with whom the professionalization contract is signed.
Students with a professionalization contract are exempt from paying the CVEC.
You are a Continuing Education trainee notably if you are returning to studies after a break of two or more years, or if your studies are financed by your employer, among other situations (detailed on the webpage of the DFTLV).
- Going rates in 2026-2027:
- € 2,902 minimum per year for one year of an undergraduate degree (depending on the cost of the course of study)
- € 3,950 minimum per year for one year of a master's degree (depending on the cost of the course of study)
Continuing education trainees who began their bachelor’s or master’s degree program in the 2021–2022 academic year or earlier are exempt from the increased fees (which are aligned with differentiated tuition fees). They are, however, still liable for course fees, like all trainees enrolled in continuing education courses.

Initial training*
The rules governing the application of differentiated tuition fees for non-EU students were amended by the French decree of 19 May 2026.
From now on, all non-EU students enrolling at university for the first time will be required to pay the differentiated fees, except for those who are exempt::
- Nationals of the EU, Monaco, Andorra, Quebec and Switzerland
- Those granted refugee status or subsidiary protection
- Long-term residents in France (more than 5 years)
- Those who have been tax residents in France for more than two years
- Students enrolled in preparatory classes for the grandes écoles (CPGE)
- PhD students and those registered for accreditation to supervise research (HDR)
- Students at engineering schools
