This BIP offers an immersive introduction to Indigenous writings of Canada, combining literary analysis, artistic practice and cultural exploration. Through the lens of the violence inflicted on Indigenous peoples by French and British colonial societies, the programme invites participants to reflect on key contemporary issues such as the acceptance of difference and resistance to dominant historical and cultural narratives.
Program
In a nutshell : The program blends lectures and interactive seminars, artistic workshops led by three renowned Indigenous Canadian women artists, and documentary screenings followed by discussions. Learning is further enriched by community-building activities, including shared meals, an exploration of the city of Pau through street art, and a visit to the Château de Pau, creating a dynamic and engaging learning experience that connects critical reflection, creativity and cultural discovery.
