To provide students with the linguistic tools they need to integrate successfully into both university life and extra-curricular activities. Better comprehension and an ability to express themselves, both orally and in written form, are expected.
Each lesson develops and enriches the student's language skills and cultural understanding. Both syntax and lexical skills are studied in parallel with the culture.
Students benefit from teaching methods and content adapted to the individual’s level and needs. Skills are developed beginning from the student's language level on arrival.
1. Language of communication, both oral and written.
- Speaking skills: the student will interact with native speakers, including listening, taking part in conversations, and giving his or her opinion,
- Writing skills: the student will communicate in formal and informal situations. For example: compose or reply to an email, an administrative letter, etc...
2. Academic methodology in French.
- The student will learn speaking skills such as giving a presentation, making a convincing argument, debating, and through interactions in French with other students and the instructors,
- The student will learn writing skills by using various formats such as a formal email, an introductory application letter, an argumentative essay, a dissertation, a synthesis or a summary.
